Ms. Cortney Millar
INSTRUCTOR
Ms. Cortney joins the Ann’s School of Dance family with over 30 years of dance experience around North America! Ms. Cortney began dancing at the age of 6 with such poise and drive which led her to receive invites from Cechetti Ballet and the Moscow Ballet’s production of the Nutcracker. Cortney’s dance experience also includes being a member of the Detroit Shock, Detroit Pistons, and Detroit Lions cheer/dance squad which led to performances with musicians such as Mariah Carey, Mike Posner, and Lil Jon. Her professional experience as a dancer has also taken her to the big screen where she danced alongside Neil Patrick Harris, Johnathon Chow, and Kal Penn under the direction of famed choreographer Cortney Miller Jr. Cortney’s work as a choreographer and instructor has also spanned decades and includes every possible dance styling from traditional ballet to lyrical, contemporary and hip-hop. Her credits span many verticles from studio competition teams, high school pom teams, and various members for the Lions & Pistons. Many of Cortney’s students and soloists have gone on to dance for college teams including U of M, Davenport, and MSU. Cortney continues to live her life through dance by teaching master classes around the state of Michigan, choreographing solo and team numbers, and working as a certified fitness instructor. Her passion for dance shows most in the enthusiasm she brings to her students and the joy in their personal success.
